More than 250 entrants graced Sylvan Park this year for fun and prizes at the Annual Optimist Club of Redlands, California Car Show and Chili Cook-off.It's a juried event with only "nice cars, done tastefully." According to an Optimist spokesperson, they spend a lot of time speaking to the car owner, but primarily the car speaks for itself.
The Optimist Club puts more than $60,000 into the community each year for youth projects. Approximately $20,000 comes from the car show. What a great way to channel entertainment and hobbies into positive community service.
