It's a rather desperate song with an optimistic refrain that caught my attention this week, but it wasn't the lyrics that drew me in. It was the music, melodious and triumphant. "Carry On," by Fun starts out with a slow piano lead-in and the lyrics tell a sad story of life throughout, but then the drum comes up and lets the listener know that all will be okay in the end because we move forward. We carry on.
Optimists rejoice. This song is about what you do every day. Carry on.
