Service clubs make the community a better place to live

Service clubs do so many good things in their communities.  Unfortunately many local governments, newspapers and citizens fail to make the connection that service clubs equal a better quality of life. We may talk and talk to our newspapers, but often we end up publishing our own activities just to get the word out.

I am so happy to report about one community newspaper that gets it.  Community Impact newspapers of Round Rock, Pflugerville ran a full page spread on what service clubs are active in their community including the history of the clubs, what they do and how to join.  Highlighted were:
  • Chaparral Women’s Club
  • El Amistad Club of Round Rock
  • Heart of the Rock Civitan Club
  • Lions Clubs International
  • Optimist International
  • Rotary International
  • Round Rock Sertoma Club
  • Round Rock Woman’s Club
My appreciation goes out to the newspaper for highlighting these service clubs and my gratitude to the members who make their community a better place to live.
