Club meetings are important

Please take a look at another interesting Optimist Club newsletter.  As you scan through the McFarland, Wisconsin Optimist Club Newsletter, think about how busy an Optimist Club can be.  What struck me was how important it is to have regular club meetings.

I know there is wave of thinking that says meetings are out of style; that people are too busy to come together for meals and fellowship.  I think just the opposite and one look at this busy schedule will illustrate this for you.

In January, the McFarland Optimist Club:
  • Honored Grant Gilbertson as the High School Senior of the Month
  • Presented donations from the community to the Food Pantry
  • Introduced HospiceCare to the Club
  • Thanked the Basketball Boosters for working at the Youth Center concession stand
  • Made decisions to donate more than $2,000 to other youth serving organizations
  • Helped a long-time member celebrate her 60th birthday
  • Announced the meeting and event schedule for February and March
